![]() This is about as far as I have gotten.ĭo you have any suggestions? I have tried every combination I can think of (hold down Menu down once plugging in the USB cable, not hold down menu down, with power cable, without power cable, iTunes running, not running, micro USB cable 1, micro USB cable 2, iMac, MacBook Air). I have experimented with various permutations and when I have iTunes also launched (ignoring step 1) at the same time as Seas0nPass, it does detect ATV2 in DFU mode. I have ATV2 flash every 1/2 second, but nothing else - iTunes does not launch, Seas0nPass does not say anything about detecting my ATV2 in DFU mode. Functionally, both jailbreak types are identical, the only difference being that a tethered jailbreak requires the Apple TV to be connected to a Mac/PC when first powering it on. Plug in ATV2 into USB and hold down MENU and Play/Pause for 7 seconds Seas0nPass currently provides a tethered jailbreak for the new 5.0 (iOS 5.1) Apple TV software. There are some apple users who have a subscription to Apple TV but do not have any Apple. The latest version supports OS X 10.11 El Capitan, as well as the Apple TV 2G’s last firmware 6.2.1, which equates to iOS 7.1.2. Seas0npass is the jailbreak tool which available for Apple TV 2. Run Seas0nPass and wait until it prompts you to Connect USB and then press and hold MENU and Plan/Pause for 7 secondsĤ. FireCore has released a version of Seas0nPass that takes the jailbreak tool to version 0.9.7 and puts it into a beta state for those who wish to go down the route of testing out the updated tool. Seas0npass jailbreak Apple TV 2 running tvOS 4.3 tvOS 5.3 (untethered) & tvOS 6.1. Do not have ATV connected to either power or USBģ. I have followed the links above, and while have no problem with iTunes recognizing my ATV, can't seem to get past the Seas0nPass screen of Waiting for device to enter DFU mode.Ģ. I've downloaded the latest Seas0nPass (0.6.7 (23)) and have an iMac running 10.6.6. Then, I proceeded to update my mac to OS X 10.12.4 Sierra. I am still having trouble getting ATV2 into DFU mode when Jailbreaking. I updated the Apple TV 2 jailbreak from the untethered 5.3 to the tethered 6.2.1 using OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan and Seas0nPass 0.9.8 with no issues.
